Monterey, CA USA, May 18, 2026 – DataRay Inc., a leading provider of laser measurement instrumentation, today announced the release of WaveSight, a dedicated software platform for wavefront sensing. WaveSight is designed specifically to support the WaveCamD, DataRay’s new Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor line, and marks the company’s entry into dedicated wavefront sensing software.
Unlike conventional beam profiling, wavefront sensing characterizes the phase of a laser beam — revealing optical aberrations critical to applications in adaptive optics, optical system alignment, laser resonator diagnostics, and ophthalmology research. WaveSight supports both zonal (numerical) and modal (Zernike) wavefront reconstruction methods, giving users flexibility in how they analyze and report wavefront data.
WaveSight was built with accessibility in mind. Its intuitive interface allows users to get up and running quickly, without requiring deep expertise in wavefront analysis software. The WaveCamD hardware supports measurements across UV (250 to 450 nm), visible (400 to 900 nm), and near-IR (750 to 1350 nm) wavelength ranges, and WaveSight is designed to serve the full breadth of that hardware capability.
